![]() This year, however, was a little more special, given how the world has changed since the pandemic began. The event always is a highlight for many of the attendees. The three-day conference, which began Tuesday, brings together game developers from around the world to connect and network. (Lukas Eggen/Las Vegas Review-Journal)Īfter a year away because of the pandemic, the DICE Summit returned to Las Vegas. I advise no one to repeat our mistakes by trusting this company with your money and confidence. After a year away because of the pandemic, the DICE Summit returned to Las Vegas. I should have not given them the benefit of the doubt after that, but I did, and I learned. Then two weeks later, they told her that they were short on materials and that her delivery had an “indefinite” timeframe. She was told this 6 weeks after making her order with them. ![]() ![]() She was told that her order would be delayed until after a convention they attended. Furthermore, I have a friend that attempted to order some dice from them prior to my disappointing experience and she was told similar things. To top that, once I asked to cancel, I was once more not given a definite timeframe for when I would receive my refund. I was so frustrated at the COMPLETE lack of communication and the blase response to my inquiry that I cancelled my order. I finally emailed them and was told that my order had an “unsure about the eta” status. I ordered from them and waited over 8 weeks with no response. ![]() Note: see the comments for a discussion with Artisan dice about selling online vs offline. I suspect that if they continue to be successful, they’ll have to make a decision whether they’re a custom dice shop, or if they’re a manufacturer - manufacturers aren’t afraid of retailers competing with them, in fact the more places that carry your product the better (because you sell more and make more money that way) while the custom shop takes a much larger cut for themselves and deals in vastly smaller volumes, and doesn’t sell to stores. So the only place you can buy their dice online is directly through them. Update: They apparently do sell polyhedral sets however, I haven’t yet found where on the site you can see and buy them.įrom the info on their site, it looks like they’ll sell to game stores however, they will not sell to any online dealer. ![]() These dice ain’t cheap - right now it looks like they only sell sets of 4 six-sided dice (either regular d6 or Fudge dice) and on the cheap end they’ll cost around $30 for the four dice, and upwards of several hundred dollars for a set of four, depending on the type of wood that you want.īut holy gods, these are gorgeous dice and are absolutely worth drooling over! We can only hope that as they get up to speed they add more kinds of dice to their capabilities and start producing full 7-dice sets. They started as a kickstarter project trying to raise $300 to get going, and ended up raising over $90,000! This are individually machine crafted wooden dice made from fancy woods. I just recently discovered the amazing Artisan Dice (thanks to a comment here). ![]()
